OnePlus is a fairly young company compared to the other mobile tech giants on the market, but with the introduction of extremely compelling flagship-grade smartphones at reasonable price tag this company has managed to grow fairly fast. The company has been using the "Never Settle" motto from the start. To date, it has managed to sell quite a few devices, establishing itself as one of the best manufacturers of smartphones on the market.
So many believe that OnePlus is no longer
a flagship killer smartphone maker, but a flagship maker company. But the CEO
of OnePlus recently said that the company will shift its strategy to go back to
making cheap smartphones. Obviously, OnePlus didn’t mention anything by name,
but we know that he was talking about the OnePlus Nord.
So, OnePlus Nord specifications have
reportedly been leaked ahead of the July 21 launch event for the phone,
according to a report. The recent promo video shared by OnePlus shows the
dual-selfie camera and a glimpse of the OnePlus Nord rear camera setup, but
this latest leak provides details of the cameras, as well as other phone specifications.
This information comes from reliable leak star Evan Blass who posted an image
of a virtual Nord training presentation on Twitter. The phone is said to run
OxygenOS 10 and may feature a 6.44-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz
refresh rate, 408ppi pixel density and 20:9 aspect ratio. Corning Gorilla Glass
is said to provide security.
Also listed in the latest leak is the
processor, Snapdragon 765 G 5 G which was previously confirmed by OnePlus. The
OnePlus Nord is rumoured to come in two variants namely, 8GB RAM + 128GB, and
12GB RAM + 256GB, and the image states that the phone will use LPDDR4X RAM.
As far as cameras are concerned, the
OnePlus Nord will include a quad camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor,
an ultra-wide 8MP lens, a 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro-lens. The phone at
the front will have a dual punch hole camera setup that the firm has officially
confirmed. Rumours suggest from the Nord will include 32MP main sensor and an
8MP ultra-wide for selfies. The sheet further indicates that a 4.115mAh battery
with 30W fast charging support will be packed by the OnePlus Nord. The phone is
said to be available in three colour options Blue Marble, Gray Onyx and Gray
Ash. Evan Blass also shared an image that reveals some official cases. Such
"Creator Cases" tend to have been created from YouTube
channel"JerryRigEverything "in collaboration with Camilla Engstrom,
Finsta, and Zack.
Carl Pie as well as the official OnePlus
Twitter account has shared a new tweet with a link to an older tweet by OnePlus
from 2014 when the company launched their first phone, the OnePlus One which
was launched at $299 for the base variant and $350 for the highest variant.
This led to many big publications to believe that the OnePlus Nord could be
priced at $299 as well. If you convert 25000 INR in US dollars, that’s about
$325. So speculating it could cost $299 based on this tweet, makes total sense.
Google's upcoming Pixel 4a is also expected to start at $299 which will be
powered by the Snapdragon 730 processor. So, on paper at least, the OnePlus Nord
looks more appealing than the Pixel 4a or any other mid-rangers around. At a
time like this, the world doesn’t need more expensive phones, but more
affordable options, OnePlus will stand out not only with cutting-edge
technology in a sea of products, but also with the price and thankfully the
OnePlus Nord is coming in at the right moment. So, what do you guys think about
the upcoming OnePlus Nord let us know in the comments down below?
